Dancing in the Dark

" A Dance in the Dark" by Neha

Some of us dance in the dark
When the night is black
When the moon is blue
When the candle is yellow
When the firefly is green

Within these shadows
Our eyeshadows lift
We look at colors of the dark night
Sprinkled with sounds of silence
To dance our slow dance

When no one is watching
When crickets sing in a distance
When our hearts flickr like a night streetlight
The waltz of past the midnight hour
Some of us dance in the dark.

Beautiful Neha!

You inspire me to share this one on the same theme, which I wrote for a friend recently who lost a loved one--he often danced in the dark.

The Lens (For Heather)

Those closest to the edge,
rattle our cages of safe.
As they teeter there,
the light hovers above them.
Rainbows fall on their head,
as they rock back and forth,
impervious to it all.
The deep calls louder than
we can, at times.
It unimaginable to us all,
how suffering and love
becomes a bridge
that souls cross
to other lives.
